Apparently Tennessee's Chris Lofton secretly battled cancer last off-season and is just now revealing it publicly. Pretty amazing story:

makes the people who were criticizing him pretty harshly at points look rather silly...

its a good story to remember when people get carried away criticizing college "stars".

These guys have lives we don't know about, and you never know what might be going on with them.

That was an amazing story. Lofton has my complete respect.

Wow, truly remarkable. Lofton is definitely special. Now I almost wish I voted for Lofton instead of DeMarcus for the Lowe's class senior award. I just looked it up and somehow Shan Foster won it even though Lofton and DeMarcus were clear winners in the fan voting. I guess that battle ended up not mattering.

But, more importantly, wow....beating cancer, coming back, not telling anyone, and not having excuses when people said he wasn't playing well....just amazing. He number truly belongs in the rafters.

Man, what courage! To not tell anyone? To go through all that with only his parents and coach? An incredible story. He's my new 2nd favorite player in the draft...after Demarcus.

Neither Lofton or Dmarc ended up winning the Lowe's Senior CLASS award even though Lofton won the most votes from the public. Shan Foster won it.
