Here's a dose of news that will probably satisfy the masses -- Duke is going to hire one of the hottest young "big man" coaches around. The plan is for him to replace either Collins or Wojo, should one take a head coaching job this summer. If not, he'll take Chris Spatola's graduate assistant job, with Spatola moving on to another role. You can see some of his more innovative drills here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2Vouz98B86A)-- this can only mean good things for Zoubek's development.

Ha. Anything/person that can teach Zoubek to move his feet like that is welcome.

A change in perspective / technique is definitely in order. All the assistant coaches played guard. Where has our strength been? Guard. How many of our players can play the guard position? - a lot. How many effective bangers do we have/ If a big man coach is indeed on the way, perhaps the coaching meetings will be infused with discussions of some Brand, Boozer, Williams type additions. Tired big men still play big. Once here, the problem still remains: either a lack of PT or play 'em till they drop.

Get this new coach's autograph and frame it. It's going to be worth a lot!

My heart almost dropped AGAIN! For the second time in under 24 hours. When I initially read that my guy, Chris Collins, could be gone and just simply "replaced"... Whew!!!!! I love his passion and love for Duke. I know some have been calling for both him and Wojo to "take other jobs," but I love them. Don't necessarily agree with Wojo solo coaching the big ben, but we never argued it in the past, when we were producing titles and guys like Shelden Williams.

Anyway, back to Chris. He's obviously way too legit 2 quit. We all know this;)

Thanks for that, Jumbo. :) I'm truly an idiot.

I guess I am just a mere infant of a poster, but I did not yet know about Jumbo's sense of humor. Never thought he'd get me on April fools like this.

He sure SOUNDS like the right guy for the job. But he makes Wojo look like Shaq.

Thanks for posting the clip, when Clay Aiken had become popular, I told my sons about Rick Astley, but they never believed there was someone whose voice so totally failed to match his appearance.

Big man coach is fine. Now we need a shooting coach - just who can shoot a baseline 3 end have a decent percentage of making it? Who should only shoot a straight away 3 and who should shoot only a 3 from the right or left side. All this is science now and probabilities and DUBB needs to get into it.

Shaq has now said forget working for the PD or in Orlando after he retires...

He's going to be Duke's next big shooting coach...
