Who was the Man of the Match vs. Belmont?

Delaware

Gerald, that is.

Henderson was awesome. I keep watching that clip on the NCAA website (you can find it here (http://www.ncaasports.com/basketball/mens/pontiac/index?source=NCAA08_CBS_to_GCP), I think.)

That last minute steal by DeMarcus was pretty awesome, too. But otherwise, he was a non-entity. Belmont had our offense figured out, and Markie just couldn't penetrate.

Jon did have a good 1st half, at least remember that-if he does not show up for the 1st 20, we are down 5 or more at half, perhaps...

I still voted for G

Without G we lost by 7. I will do his laundry for a week or two.

Jumbo, you should have listed Gerald 12 times on the list.

I don't think there is any question at all.

Has there been a unanimous choice in any game this season?

It was Hendo, Hendo, and Hendo. Over and over again. Second choice (distant) was Scheyer. Saw Jon's parents in the audience, happy for them. Hope Gerald senior was there (he generally is).

more than anyone else on our team. Don't know if his wrist still hurts, but maybe we should sprain everyone else's wrist if it produces performances like his tonight.

Henderson has to be unanimous.

Henderson was simply a beast in the second half. That has to continue. Agree with those giving credit to Scheyer.

you will be banned if you choose anyone but G (just kidding, I don't have the authority)

Props to Scheyer and Paulus, but Gerald was the man.

But the real MVP is whoever designed that hand brace for G.

Wow. 58 for G, 0 for the rest as of the time I voted.

Lolz.

My vote for G brought it up to 62-0. It's hard to imagine tonight not being very, very unpleasant without G, so there's no other way to vote.

Anyone who doesn't vote for G wasn't watching the game, no question.

Has anyone ever gotten unanimous MOTM? I'm guessing JJ might have.

I cant say for sure but he probably did against Texas when he dropped 40some.

I just checked and I think that the Cornell game had a "unanimuous" MotM in King, with one vote going to Jordan Davidson for his layup. I may have games confused, but I'm fairly certain the Cornell game had one player with all the votes except 1 vote for Davidson.

i've wondered all year if there could or would be a unanimous choice. this is mostly a tribute to g's amazing game and to a lesser degree a comment on the others. other than scheyer -- and mostly in the first half -- no one else could have been close to a contender. mad props for g. i'm sure he has a very proud dad.

I agree. Scheyer in first half and Henderson in second half.

Well I didn't vote (yet) but I have to give some props to Scheyer, though I will NOT stand in the way of a unanimous vote for Henderson...

Without his hard work throughout the game, Hendo's MAGNIFICENT lay-in doesn't count for anything.

I love love love love love Henderson, but he tends to disappear sometimes. There was a good stretch there in the end of the first/beginning of the second that I didn't really see Henderson impact the game much. Scheyer, though he had some bad shots, was always in there, grabbing rebounds, getting a steal, harassing his man on D, etc. Just my two cents, I wish I could vote them both MoTM.

I hope that what Coach K said after the Clemson game... that Gerald was more scared than hurt... is true, and that now that Gerald knows his exact condition, he can go out and play without ANY worry. Hopefully, he can now keep this going... I think he played magnificently.

How appropriate. After being a long, long time member of this community, my standing just went from a "walk on" to a"victory cigar". I think we all need a victory cigar after this.

BTW, according to ESPN's Game Night, Gerald is only the fourth player in more than a decade to post a 20 point, 5 rebound, 5 steal game in the tournament.

Well, Henderson had more rebounds, more steals, and shot for a much better percentage from the field (and actually slightly better from the line, too). So I'd have to say that if Henderson disappeared for a stretch, then Scheyer must have as well. I'm not trying to disparage Scheyer - who had a very solid game for us - but he was not the player of the game last night for Duke. It wasn't close - it was Henderson.

The award isn't meant to consider honorable mentions. It's meant to go to the most deserving player in the game. Tonight, Scheyer would qualify as an honorable mention, but the most deserving was Henderson. And it isn't just because Henderson had a big rebound and layup at the end. It's because for the last several minutes of the game.

Scheyer could probably get the honors for the first half. Henderson would have to get them for the second half. But Henderson's second half was more impressive than Scheyer's first half, hence Henderson should get the award.

Last 8 points of the game, took over when it seemed like everyone else was a step slower. Hendo killed it out there, probably the only player that played well from start to finish.

It's actually not Jumbo (you can see who voted for whom by clicking on the numbers). That's why it is even more crazy that Scheyer got three votes - his biggest fan didn't even vote for him! :)

If you click on the number of votes then you can see who voted for whom -- this is a "public poll." when the number of votes are in blue, they are a link to the results page.

Either that or you can click here (http://www.dukebasketballreport.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=270) to see the votes.
