Coach K and Yao Ming seen talking to each other outside new MWK Center adjacent to Cameron, Friday, about 11:30 am. Is he in town for treatment of the damaged foot? Possible trade talks with Houston?:)

K was trying to talk him into defecting.

Yes, it was him. Blue Devil Club was gathering for a luncheon at the K Center when he was spotted. And, well, Yao is Yao. Would not mistake him for Zoubeck.

We were talking about what he might be doing here at the luncheon. He never played college ball and all his NBA earnings go back to China not to him personally so don't you think he has some eligibility?

Either that or Coach K is sick of everyone complaining that our big man coach is too short and he wants to put an end to such talk with a new hire.

Was he on crutches or wearing a walking boot on his injured foot?

It makes sense that he may be in town to have his foot examined. It's been reported that Yao is to see specialists in the coming days, and may have surgery to implant screws. DUMC seems to be developing some expertise, unfortunately, in treating foot injuries in basketball players.

Really? Has Brian been on Extreme Make-Over: 7.5-foot Asian Center edition?

. . . or do you mean it's not Zoubeck

Gee Merry, where have I heard that before? :)

After the luncheon, I watched our assistant coaches take on 3 others (managers?) on the new practice court. Wojo drove across the lane and threw up a real pretty hook shot. Nothing but net. I think he's learned a thing or two about big man play.

Was that before or after he used his wicked drop-step and threw down a viscous two-handed dunk?

Ha ha! I knew you'd see that post...I guess I should have said the big man coach theory was proposed by one of my esteemed luncheon companions!

I'm pretty sure Shane referred Yao. He just said, "Hey, they did wonders for this guy Boozer you may have heard of."

You know, you should have asked him if he was Yao Ming. Did anyone catch his press conference after he broke his foot? That man is fluent in English. No joke, he can speak clearly and without any assitance. I was noticing that during the presser, then Scott Van Pelt mentioned something along those lines at the end of the clip. I wonder what he used to pick up the language so well. Ozzie Guillen has spent the better part of three decades in the states and nobody understands a damn word that guy says!

Any two-handed dunk attempted by Wojo would likely be viscous indeed.
