I don't think I've seen too many doomsday posts so far tonight (could be mistaken). Most of the posts have centered around the team not playing well tonight, with no discussion of any potential impact on the rest of the season. If anything, I've seen posts suggesting that this loss may be a good thing moving forward.

Save the sarcastic/ironic posts like this for when they are actually warranted.

As much as it might be inappropriate, I love seeing the post. It immediately brings back the memories of the amazing 2001 run.

The original post actually brought a smile to my face after such a loss. So I thought I might as well just mess around too. I guess the point is pretty clear. We will regroup and rebound. I have a lot of faith in this year's team.

There's nothing left to salvage in a season like this.

I heard the same thing...I acutally saw the demo permit and the Cameron Indoor will be imploded in 2-3 mos to make way for a mixed use development. Developers anticipate "Cameron Crossing" to house +/- 30 condo units and have signed 5-year leases with Panera Bread, Kinkos and Starbucks where the arena once stood.

If Coach K could just have recruited a big man and some athleticism, none of this would have happened.

Grandpa: The eel doesn't get her. I'm explaining it to you because you look nervous.

The Grandson: I wasn't nervous. Maybe I was a little bit "concerned" but that's not the same thing.

That's just it, he did cry (it was a very mean face), and one of his stainless steel tears fell on Martynas Pocius' right ankle.

Also, I have it on good authority that Jeff Teague fell asleep, while smoking a victory cigar, in CBS Sports film vault, and the ensuing fire destroyed the only known copies of Laettner's 1992 Regional Final buzzer-beater. (Oh! The Humanity!) (Earlier reports indicated that it was Duke Point Guard Nolan Smith, those responsible for sourcing that information have been sacked.)

edit: This just in: Lance Thomas and Dave McClure suffered concussions while attempting a Wallace Shawn movie marathon -- apparently, inspired by constant references to Shawn's film career on an as-yet-unnamed Duke Basketball fan board. The injuries were sustained when they simultaneously fell alseep 15 minutes into My Dinner with Andre, knocking their heads together when they nodded-off out of sheer, mind-numbing boredom.

In the event of a loss, you can expect some form of this thread to be available for solace. Except in late March, when stuff really can be over. :)

It makes anyone who doesn't take every single defeat as an opportunity to bash those without blind faith feel like the board is calling them foolish, a chicken little.

That said, I don't think this loss is cause to give up on the season. Not hardly. I think it will help with focus down the stretch. My only real concern following the game is Gerald's health.
