I know this is a basketball site with occasional glimpses into other sports but I thank DBR for mentioning Levine. Her journey to the S. Pole is epic. Perhaps 5 people have preceded her. That is a monumental achievement as great as anything I've seen on this site.
Andrew Skurka's (another Duke grad) Great Western Loop triumph is another such achievement.

Outside of my family, I have a few things in my life I love and give me great pleasure - among them Duke basketball is one as is trekking. I've had my share of trekking adventures but all such endeavors pale to these achievements - yet I can appreciate what has been accomplished here. Kudo's to DBR for giving these folks some recognition. While not as glamorous or celebrated as basketball - the efforts of these two individuals should be....
