it makes our loss to a fully stock pitt look that much more impressive. stick a fork in gtown and bye bye any shot at a 1 seed. they have been sleepwalking all year against a chump schedule. something doesn't seem right with them. sort of like uconn 2 years ago but gtown this year has less talent.

Pitt looked really impressive in this win, as did Kansas against an undermanned Oklahoma team.

As a Pitt fan I was ridiculously proud of that team last night. They've completely reinvented themselves, relying on two guys who came in highly touted their freshman year (by Pitt standards, we'd be wondering why Duke would be recruiting such people), Keith Benjamin and Ronald Ramon, to finally move on from the role player status they've held the last two years to become stars. As a guy who's watched them the last 4 years it was especially gratifying to see Ramon, who's a class act and a great player who has never been appreciated as much as he's deserved, get to be praised by announcers all night as he ripped apart the number 6 team in the country. All in all a sweet sweet basketball game.

A number one seed is nice. Making the final four is finer. Where was Georgetown last year at this time. Where were they in March. You probably were writing Duke off after the loss to Pitt earlier. Who says that Pitt is not a better team at this time, even though they lost a player that seemed to hog the ball all the time. And, Georgetown was coming off a terrific high; losing on the other guy's court in that circumstance, well, let's say that it is a bit early to be writing them off.

On the other hand, there does seem to be something missing in this year's club. They, with JTIII helping, might figure out what that is. That's why they play em, Dukie8, that's why they play em.

Insinuating that Fields was a ballhog is just silly. It shows that you're most likely judging from one game in which 2 of Pitt's best scorers (Cook and Ramon) struggled to score, causing Fields to have to take a greater load on himself. He was for most of the season a pass first point guard who could score in bunches when needed but preferred to let the team play as a team game. If you need numbers to back that up look at Kenpom. Fields was only 3rd on the team as far as % of possessions used goes at 22.1%, he was among the national leader in A/TO ratio at 2.8/1, and he was 4th in the big east with 5.4 turnovers a game. To put the poss% number in perspective, both Kyle Singler and Demarcus Nelson use about 22% of the possessions when they're on the floor for Duke, while Henderson and King both use above 26%. While it is true that Fields number is a bit high for a point guard, its on the low side for a guy who is the best pure scoring guard on a team, which is what Fields was for Pitt. (and hopefully will be again by the end of the season

Good get! Pittsburgh has to be a heck of a team. I was very impressed with Fields when Pitt played Duke. Didn't see the Georgetown game.
