This was already linked on the main page, but no worries. It's definitely a weird episode to read about.....Also, either abc or the NYT is wrong about Washington (the one in the middle of the picture) being charged. In this (http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=5871465) ABC article from Jan 4, it says "Washington has been cleared of all charges because her alleged victim did not show up to testify and no other evidence was presented against her."

WRAL.com details the judges dropping of SEVERAL of the charges: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/2255342/

They also reveal two of the football player's names since they are no longer considered sexual assault victim's since many of the charges have been thrown out.

On second inspection, the NYT article doesn't say there are charges against Washington, but wasn't very clear that they were dropped against her considering they still put her photo up. But it does say "[Judge Coleman] did not endorse the felony charges against Washington, meaning they would be dismissed." So, there's no contradiction....just didn't read it carefully enough. Ya, not sure how anybody would want to go home with that first one....

In the words of Larry the Cable Guy:

I don't care who you are, that's funny.

This exchange reported in the the NYT story made me laugh out loud:

A defense lawyer, Susan Seahorn, asked why the players had not put up a fight.

“So you’re both pretty big guys, accustomed to confrontational situations?” she said.

The player said, “On the field, yes.” He added, “When a naked black male walks into your apartment, it’s kind of a shocking thing.”
