Any way to tally up figures on how the "Man of the Match" polling on this board has shaken out thus far this season (e.g., who has the most "Man" wins, second most, third, etc.; total votes for all players and such)????

Just curious. Hope it doesn't kill me.

They're listed next to the result on the schedule.

What about 2nd places and 3rd places in the POTG voting? If anything, this team has regularly had 2-3 key players (or more) in every game. So only seeing the POTG winner and not the runners-up or even by how much by which the POTG won is still leaving a lot of information out there. Is there a place where such info could be found (aside from going back and doing it by hand)?

FYI - the POTG totals are:

Henderson, Singler: 3 each
Nelson: 1 (soon to be 2)
Scheyer, King, Paulus, Smith: 1 each

If we used hockey assists as a schemata for overall MOTM points (3 for win, 2 for second, 1 for third) I would expect that Scheyer would fare pretty well. Note that is many games he has the most/second most minutes. There is a very good reason for that.
Would be very, very interesting to see the facts.

I went back and summarized this from the message boards. Interestingly, the listing of POTG on the DBR Schedule is different than the results of the game tallies of MOTM on the Message Boards. On the Schedule, the totals for POTG are:

Singler, Henderson: 3 each
Nelson: soon to be 2
Scheyer, Paulus, King, Smith: 1 each

But on the message boards you get the following:

Game First Second Third
Cornell Nelson Henderson/Paulus None
Pitt Singler Henderson Nelson
Albany Nelson Scheyer Zoubek
Michigan Smith Nelson King
Davidson Paulus Henderson Scheyer
Wisconsin Paulus Scheyer Nelson
EKU King Paulus Henderson
Marquette Singler Nelson Thomas
Illinois Henderson Nelson Paulus
Princeton Singler Paulus Scheyer
NMSU Paulus Scheyer Henderson
NCCU Singler King Scheyer

So we have:

Singler: 4 1st, 0 2nd, 0 3rd (12 points)
Paulus: 3 1st, 3 2nd, 1 3rd (16 points)
Nelson: 2 1st, 3 2nd, 2 3rd (14 points)
Henderson: 1 1st, 3 2nd, 2 3rd (11 points)
King: 1 1st, 1 2nd, 1 3rd (6 points)
Smith: 1 1st (3 points)
Scheyer: 0 1st, 3 2nd, 3 3rd (9 points)
Thomas: 0 1st, 0 2nd, 1 3rd (1 point)
Zoubek: 0 1st, 0 2nd, 1 3rd (1 point)

It's important to note a couple of things. The DBR rankings including 2nd and 3rd place finishes for 3-4 games in which the top vote getter got like 85-90+% of the votes. Also, I think I disagree with the game-to-game assessments here. I have real trouble believing that Paulus has been our best game-to-game performer. I believe the POTG numbers more than I believe the MOTM winners.

And now I'll argue with myself (a bit).

Having gone back and checked the box scores, there are only a couple of games where Paulus got more votes on the MOTM voting than he probably warranted, with the Davidson game being the only egregious one. And he got a second place from the Cornell game (along with Henderson) with one vote. In looking back, Paulus has had a few very solid games.

So I take back a bit of my disbelief in the MOTM winners (with the exception of the Davidson game). :)

This is AWESOME. Thanks!

No problem at all. I'm glad you thought of this early enough in the season that it could be done relatively quickly. Also, sorry that the game-by-game table didn't format nicely. I'm not very proficient at that yet.
