So what is your holiday Beverage?
Mine apparently is Honey Grog.
Find yours here:

Egg nog. First, last, and always.
You have not had egg nog until you've had my mother's egg nog. It's like a glass of velvet with a delightful follow-up holiday buzz.

That quiz said Tom Collins, but it's definitely egg nog.

The quiz says chilled cranberry juice. Fine by me!

The quiz is definitely imperfect. For favorite color, there is no BLUE!

Quiz says: champagne. Or merlot, with my alternate answers.

Understatement. That quiz is evil in its presumption.

The quiz said an English Breakfast tea for me...I agree that the lack of Blue for a favorite color definitely leads to incorrect results.

Rum, straight up, or on the rocks.

Couldn't pick blue, so I had to settle for my second favorite car color, yellow (the really gawdy orangey yellow (http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-jkl/Lotus-Elise-99T-Yellow-Front-1280x960.jpg))

The quiz is obviously completely and totally broken.

Not only did it not include blue as a favorite color (serious oversight), it came back with an answer of 'tequila' for me. As in a straight up shot.
Which is the one thing I won't drink!

Craziness...

It told me "Bloody Mary". I don't even like bloody anything. My mind's choice is Maker's Mark and ginger ale or water. I got sick off tomatoes when I was a kid and haven't been able to so much stand the sight or smell of them since.

I'll trade you your bloody mary for my tequila shot.

Egg nog, Egg nog, Egg nog. There is NOTHING else for the Holidays!! Other drinks are GREAT for other times. But a great eggnog is the only Holiday Drink! Besides a great Champagne for New Year's - or some Martinelli's Sparkling Cider. Fond Greetings and Happy Holidays to All!!

Quiz says I'm a Manhatten drinker. Never tried one, but, coincidentally, it's one of my mom's favorites. I prefer egg nog.

quiz says.... single malt scotch

but in reality it's bourbon.

in celebration here's a holiday cocktail for you:

natucket sleighride

fill glass with ice
1.5 oz bourbon (knob creek works well)
splash of cranberry juice (the real thing, not that ocean spray stuff)
fill remainder of glass with ginger ale ( a spicy ginger ale or ginger beer even can be used)
stir
repeat until your mother in law is less irritating

I'm a huge fan of glögg...it does a great job of getting you into the Xmas spirit (while warming you up).

I randomly posted this in the "longest thread ever" thread. We make our own glögg in our family.

On the Swedish Lutheran side of my family, we make glögg, a fortified mulled wine (somewhat like the German gluhwein). It's made with port wine, vodka or grain alcohol, raisins, prunes (ahem - dried plums), almonds, oranges, lemons, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom.

Anyway glögg rocks - it's awesome on Christmas eve when you come back from church (and frankly any other time). What we do though is after it cooks with all the fruits and spices, you strain it before you serve it. But save the fruits and spices! We use them to make a homemade - highly fortified - glögg-cake. It frickin rocks.
