Games in HD [Archive]

The only two basketball games that I've watched on espn so far this season (Duke/NM State and UNC/Davidson) were not in HD. Does anyone have any info as to why this is and when we can expect it to change.

Also, in case you didn't know this already, for any games on the ESPN channels, you can go to the ESPN website, open TV Listings, and it shows the entire lineup of programs each day with the high-def telecasts marked "HD."

I don't know, but I suspect there are a couple of contributing factors: 1) Duke can bring in the ratings without the HD broadcast; and 2) ESPN's HD units are spread thin right now due to the glut of sports being broadcast. Once we get to January when college football is done and pro football is in the playoffs, I suspect most of our ESPN games will be in HD.
