After listening to the President’s emergency declaration it occurs to me that we are in a position to inject a huge morale boost to the American public. Given Roche’s testing breakthrough approved by the FDA and being rolled out across the country next week various professional sports organizations should petition to take the coronavirus tests — the entire team and coaches. Those cleared could compete with some assurance that they won’t be infected by competitors. The events could be broadcast and provide a huge morale boost to the television audience. Of course there won’t be any spectators but the mission is really about making the best of a bad situation. Many if not all teams travel by charter so travel risks are reduced. In fact for the competitors the risk factors appear quite low. They are young and not likely to be in a high risk situation. One might argue they are just as likely to contract the coronavirus living at home.

I believe a similar thing is being done with the UFC which is going on as scheduled just without spectators:

How about the fact that Rudy Gobert was already recovering before they even knew what he had. And that Tom Hanks and his wife are still enjoying their Australian trip even with the diagnosis.

You don't understand how this works.

One of the players or coaches could test negative and get it the next day from the pizza delivery guy, or at the gas pump.

If you listened to the President's address then you know that you're not supposed to get tested unless you need to... if you have symptoms.

Better than a morale boost is infecting less people.

You've mentioned this on more than one thread about Gobert. I'm not sure what you are insinuating? Are you saying that the virus isn't dangerous? That it isn't contagious?
