Who was Duke's Man of the Match in their win over Carolina tonight?

Anchor's Aweigh! Yeah scored, blocked shots and rebounded but loved his passes to the post. Fabulous night for #50.

Sometime you just vote with your heart. JRob.

Tre did a fair job, Vernon too!

I told you guys, it's best to have 2-4 Duke players to agonize over for MOTM. That means a Duke win.

Really nice game by JRob and Vern but I thought Tre was MOTM hands down tonight. 39 minutes of tough as nails hoops not the least of which was Cole Anthony shooting 4-14 for 9 points. I think it was his Senior Night too unfortunately. Heck of a game.

J-Rob was great, Carey had a good second half and Cassius had his moments, but Tre gets our vote tonight. Running the team, double double scoring and assists, and great defense. Yup, Tre is the man of the match!

I emotionally wanted to vote for JRob, but it was too hard to ignore Carey's 25-10. And 9-11 from the line? The kid has come a long way since the start of the season.

I agree with lotusland. Loved JRob's timely contributions, and Vern's performance despite being double- and triple-teamed all night, but Tre was the best player on the court by far as well as our leader.

JRob was that extra ingredient that made the recipe work. On grad-senior night he gets my vote.

Other guys may have had better overall games, but JRob stepped up huge in a big game. What a senior night.

It was Tre, it was Vern at points, it was JRob at others. Heck even Cassy played well.

Cassy? That’s a new one.

I’m the sole voter for Stanley. That’s the quietest 19 points ever. He is clearly our third scorer and, when he’s playing like that, Duke is tough to beat.

Tre was our best player. Carey was unstoppable. JRob came out of nowhere. But I thought Stanley was the X factor that Duke frequently needed this season.

I voted for Vernon Carey in this thread and Tre Jones on the front page game article. Interesting that the message board poll has 124 votes cast while the front page poll has 914 votes cast. I guess a bunch of DBR visitors don’t participate in the forums.

Cassius certainly flew under MY radar. I had no idea he had scored that many until after the game. Weird.

The front page poll is comparable to the AP and the forum poll is akin to the coaches poll which occasionally results in co-MOTMs. There’s cash prize for the unanimous unified MOTM that has been building like a lottery payout for decades now.

While Vernon and Tre were spectacular as usual and Cassius had a quietly solid game, I gave the nod to the senior captain, J-Rob, and not for sentimental reasons. I truly felt that he set the tone from the outset for his teammates, and re-established that tone at various points when it was somewhat lagging. He was a truly assertive leader last night and absolutely earned MOTM honors.

J-Rob

And what I liked most was in the post-game interview he acted like he expected this.

If his new-found confidence and stat-stuffing travels I like our chances of winning one of the next two tourneys!

I voted for JRob. He was literally the difference in the game. Rd 1 vs the Cheats: difference in score at end of regulation = 0 pts. JRob pts = 0. Rd 2 vs the Cheats: difference in score at end of regulation = 13 pts. JRob pts = 13.
Big Vern and Tre both had excellent games, making major impacts in different ways, and we wouldn't have won without either of them, but the surprise impact of JRob was a game changer.
