Duke Preview - Al Featherston

Al Featherston has written a preview of Duke for the ACC site (see link). Some of the keys that I take away from the article are:
• Coach K sees this team as improved over last year.
• Paulus and Henderson are healthier than last year.
• Coach K has no problem playing without a center.
• For the nth time, he makes mention of the increased depth.

While all of the 4 mian points you related are huge news for Duke, the one that really matters to me... the one that has me totally jazzed about this season is this one:


• Coach K sees this team as improved over last year.


I cannot recall K seeming this excited about a team in several years. I think we will be better, perhaps much better, than many experts think.

I obviously agree Duke will be much improved this season. However, I think one of the reasons Coach K is being superpositive about this team is IN RESPONSE to the down season last year. He's keeping the team confident and upbeat going into this season by being confident and upbeat himself. It's what a good leader does.
