In one sense, it will be great for fans who love analytics.

I see it as another step blurring (crossing?) the line between sport and entertainment.

Imagine how insufferable Antonio Brown would have been with a deep dive into his fantasy football stats leading each sports broadcast!

I think that it is important to remember that in this Brave New World of sports betting being everywhere that having news outlets, with a gambling interest/exposure, is (at least on the surface) a neutral thing, with potential upside to the casual fan, as long as it is not biased toward one team or another for betting purposes. Their goal is just to get you to play and they take a percentage off the top. Usually, the odds will move with how the public bets on one side or the other; or you get the line at the time of the bet.

If gambling infusing cash into the system makes games/races/activities universally available on media (without local blackouts!!!!!) there's something to be said for it.
