Who was Duke's Man of the Match in their win over Georgetown tonight?

I'd give the nod to Cassius with Moore and Carey also very close. Those 3 make up the core of the freshman team with Jack White and Tre Jones our main upperclassmen contributors.

I went Wendell but a good game all around. Tre’s impact was so far beyond the box score with his taking over at the start of the second half and his steadying presence against the press.

I went with Stanley over Moore and Carey.

Stanley had more rebounds and didn't turn it over as much, scored 21 and hit his FTs. He also added a lot of fire to the team and handled the physicality well.

Moore was a close 2nd for me. Carey was good, but he's gotta stay out of foul trouble.

I voted Cassius for his all around good play. 21 points on 6-11 and 3-3 on his 3s. Plus he plays terrific defense and the play he made after Jack's missed layup was great. Wendell had a good game as well but the 7 turnovers hurt his cause for MOTM. Both young men are coming along very well in this their freshmen seasons. GoDuke!

Much harder than yesterday, but I had to go with Stanley as well. All else being equal, his buckets in the second half were the true daggers, and he was a whirling dervish on defense again.

Tre Jones is my MOTM. The story of the game was the Georgetown press and we don’t handle that press without Jones.

Runner-up: Vernon Carey 20/10 double-double.

Honorable mention: Moore and Stanley.

Cassius Stanley. Almost went with Moore, but too many turnovers in his column. Carey was good again. Tre seemed a bit rattled by their press. Jack came up big on defense. Hurt and O'Connell were not a factor. Javin had a couple of good plays. Overall, I am pleased watching them come together.

For the second night in a row, Vernon Carey! He carried us offensively in the first half and had a solid second half without fouling out.

I voted for Cassius. 3-3 on 3FGs was a factor, which helped generate a spectacular 21 pts on 11 FGs (+7 FTAs). 8 rebounds was a nice touch too.
Vernon collected yet another double-double, and was critical to Duke's ability to not get blown out early, but that 4-10 FTs really dragged down his efficiency/value.
Moore had a dynamic, efficient game for the most part, and 17 pts on 10 FGs is pretty sweet, but 7 turns is not MOTM material.
Jones had a solid game against very aggressive defense but that 3-13 FGs doesn't capture MOTM status.

Vernon, was once again the MOTM. Great tournament for VC!

Second half starts 33-33.

Tre lets everyone know, over Duke's first three plays, that we are winning this game.

Also, upperclassman (sophomore) intangibles.

Voted for Tre.

Gotta give some love to the 4-year players. We don’t win this one without Jack.
