Who was your Man of the Match?

I hate to see traditions die...

I was considering Javin until I remembered that he had 4 fouls in 16 minutes against a vastly overmatched team. That's not great for a senior. Matt won the coin flip between him and Cassius so he got my vote.

I was wondering where this thread was. Thanks for posting it, Nrrrrvous.

This game was all about the 4 freshmen, and all 4 were deserving of some love here, but I'll go with Cassius for not missing from the field and putting up 3 steals and 3 blocks. This guy is like a mini-Zion.

Could have been a number of players.

I went with Matt Hurt - 3 for 3 on 3 pointers - since shooting is one of our biggest weaknesses. Hope games like this give him confidence, so that he can hit them in the games that matter when we will really need it.

Oops! I voted for Tre, but meant to vote for Cassius, just barely over Vernon.

Agreed. Hurt came in and scored multiple ways while also feeding Carey in the post. After his spurt, the game was effectively over and other players seemed to take his cue.

Here's why I voted for Matt...
For the first 4 minutes of the game they were playing us fairly close. We had a couple offensive fouls, etc.

The second 4 minutes we opened up the 20 point lead. Hurt had a span where he scored 10 points on 2 3s and a couple drives to the basket. He also had some good rebounds, some great help D to cause a turnover and was on the floor for a held ball. Just all-around great effort.

After that we were on cruise...

Way to go Matthew Hurt.

Someone's gotta come off the bench, and MHurt did so with a vengeance: leading the team in scoring with 19 points.

7-11 from the field, 3-3 from three, 2-2 from the line with 3 dimes, 4 boards, 2 blocks
