And UNC is No. 1, in this somewhat odd ranking of basketball programs:

Why is Duke No. 2 and not No. 1? Because, according to the author, "the school's entrance requirements that devastate scores of valedictorians annually must in some way bottleneck the dozens of hoopsters hoping to play for Coach K."

If this means we're behind UNC, I'll take it!

so in other words b/c are players are smarter then UNC's our program isn't as good.

I like that! Carolina's a slightly better job because academic qualifications simply aren't an issue. Cool! :)

You should have included the very next sentence:

"Or at the very least it's an additional rule a prospective coach would have to artfully manipulate in building his roster."
