Good list, lots of former Duke players on it. Only Zion made it as the best ever for his number (#1).

Glad to see Dick Groat made it for #10.

Was somewhat amused that Brian Zouuuuuuuuubek made the list for #55's!

Disappointed that The Landlord didn't make the list of 23's, but there are a lot of great 23's. Also disappointed that Tommy Amaker didn't make the #4 list. JJ did.

Using the author's logic for #3 (Doug McDermott), JJ should be the top choice for #4. Even if we didn't use the author's logic, Webber is still an uninspiring choice.

Generally okay with a couple other Duke greats like Laettner and Battier being behind Walton and Unseld, respectively.

I had to chuckle to see Brian Zoubek on this list...

I agree that JJ at #4 is the only one I would seriously quibble with. I’m a bit more than disappointed to see Shelden Williams snubbed. I actually think that him not making the list of 23’s is the biggest Duke issue I have. I get that there are a ton of 23’s, but Rondae Hollis-Jefferson made the list. I don’t think there’s any serious argument to be made that Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had a better college career than Shelden Williams.

On the other side, I think there was too much deference given to one-and-done players who weren’t NPOY caliber. Like I think Ingram and Tatum had great years here, but I’m not sure they did enough in a single season to make a list like this.

Also, it stinks for Laettner that he had to share a number with a guy who was three time NPOY.

At least one frequent DBR poster(not me) would debate you that Webber should have been the 1992-93 Big Ten POTY over IU's Calbert Cheaney.

I was most surprised not to see Gminski represented as an honorable mention for 43, a number with limited accomplished players to choose from.

Absolutely right. Same for 25...__________ fill in in the blank. And 44 ____________ Clue: Both hang from Cameron's rafters.

The duo of Art Heyman(25) and Jeff Mullins(44). I agree. That #33 was a number for some great basketball players. GoDuke!
