Dexter Randolph, Shav’s brother, passes :(

I’m posting this (https://dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/raleigh-nc/dexter-randolph-8886240) because Dexter was one of my interns, as well as the brother of one of Duke’s storied players. Dexter was a musician, and traveled extensively as one of Shav’s entourage.

Wow, this is a shock. According to the obit he was 29 and visiting Shav in Japan at the time. What a terrible blow for the family. My condolences to the family.

Good to see Shav back on the court today after a long absence due to injury and then this tragedy.

It remains to be seen how much he will play this season with his competition having a lot of experience and success there, but it is great that they were able to find a time to get him in a game.

I know Dexter's uncle, Ronnie Shavlik's son Dean - who is fighting his own health issues. Very sad. Known the Shavliks a long time (didn't really know the Randolph branch).
