It is a long podcast, but that just because there is so much great content here! We chat with former Duke player Kenny Blakeney about winning 2 national titles and his long coaching career that has finally gotten him a head coaching job. We also look at the surprising recruiting news of this past week and delve into the pay-the-players debate.

Question... would folks rather we do all of this in one podcast or should we have divided it into 2? Maybe just let the Blakeney interview stand on its own and do all the other stuff as their own pod? Just wondering what you folks who listen would like from us.

One long podcast is fine. We, as listeners, can break it up into multiple listening sessions. I listen to them in the car as I drive, usually driving to and from sales calls, which can be hours away. Bring 'em on! More podcasts is better! :cool:http://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/images/smilies/devil9f.gif http://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/images/smilies/devil9f.gif

It was clearly made by someone who does not like Duke... but Duke fans will adore it.

Here's the clip of Zion's alley oop catch off the backboard from Lonzo Ball that I referenced in Parting Shots:

And here's JJ talking about telling Zion not to "mess up" his playoff streak:

Finally got around to listening. Donald’s comment about athletes starring in porn got a chuckle, but I fully expect that many attractive female athletes will receive lucrative endorsement deals if/when the NIL rule passes. Most of the focus has been on male basketball and football players, but imagine how much money Anna Kournikova would have made as a college tennis player?

To my knowledge, nobody has suggested a cap on how much players can receive but I could see that being part of a compromise that the NCAA would allow. I don’t know what the number would be, but let’s say you set a max of $100k per year that an athlete can receive. That might alleviate some of the concerns around having a millionaire player as an “amateur” athlete, or having an uneven playing field when an SEC football school can throw around millions from a rich oil baron. Totally agree with Jason that there will be unintended consequences and lots of ways that the system will be abused.
