I will spork the heck out of anyone who cares to post the list so I don't have to click 50 times.

I’d be cool with that starting five.

Nothing wrong with that second unit.

Zion the only top ten player from the last 13 years. Interesting, given the amount of talent we've had.

It's almost perfect isn't it

PG that led the NCAA in assists (IIRC)
SG that led the NCAA in PPG (or did Morrison finally take the title) for a season and close on FT%, 3 point master
SF Ferry was the perfect stretch 4
PF Zion, like Kevin McHale and Charles Barkley in one package, good footwork, bullish on the boards
C prototypical back to the basket center with a face up jumper

That's the most underrated description I've ever heard of Elton, but I know what you mean.

Their tenure at Duke was too short to remember them.

Alex O’Connell is 99. That makes me wonder who is not on the list.

I despise click not scroll website lists. 😡🤬

Yeah, I looked anyway.

Scratching my head at how criminally underrated both Nate James and Brian Davis are, at 59 and 58, respectively.

Neither may be a top twenty player statistically, and yet they definitely knew how to win.

Have to believe top 40 is easily justifiable, and possibly higher.

I’m glad to see THill and Carrawell got the level of respect they earned in the rankings.

Clearly this column favored the four year players, which is fair given the point of the piece......Zion is really the only one in the OAD era worthy of consideration, given what an impact he made in 30 games (approx)

John Smith?

You made me click back to find him😂. He’s #83, I assume you’re referring to Onion. If I recall, Ferry gave him that nickname.

Taymon Domzalski?

Clay Buckley? George Burgin? Crawford Palmer? Tony Moore? Jay Heaps? Reggie Love?

And of course, the glaring oversight on Patrick Davidson.

Yes! on the click not scroll website lists. My new pet peeve.

Some great names that spark great memories.
1st team vs 2nd team might need a best of seven to decide a head-to-head winner. Should be available on that Heaven cable channel.

Agreed that Zion is definitely top. But if we're truly going to only consider college play and ignore other impressions, I think we need to give a shout out to another OAD guy as at least worthy of consideration: the one who won a national championship while being ACC POY and a unanimous first All-American selection. Very easy to forget how dominant Okafor was on offense because of his defensive issues, NBA career so far, and the rise of the other freshman by the end of the tournament, but I think overall he should be considered the #2 OAD Duke player.

Where did Patrick Davidson rank?

Patrick is above any rank, he is a rank unto himself.

Well if it's anything like my after work golf league where sandbagging is an art form, Patrick Davidson is a net score of -0 on a 130 yard par 3.

And they need to rethink that list in light of Maggette absolutely dominating the BIG3 league, which I'm sure was Coach K's goal (yes, he has a crystal ball).
