... or they'll be headed home early from the ACC tourney. Miami winning by 10, and Gary looks like his about to have a conniption. Ibekwe just got fouled hard going to the basket - maybe that will wake them up.

It's really no surprise, Miami has already proven they can beat the Terps this season. The 'Canes are doing a superb job of controlling the tempo and really Maryland looks flustered.

The key will be the first 5 minutes of the second half.

Don't worry, Gary will work his magic during half time and they'll come out on fire in the 2nd half:

"OK guys, I know things aren't going that great today. Just go out there and pretend you're playing Duke!!"

[insert Maryland 16-2 run]

Well, Miami stayed even for the first 5 minutes.

I'm pretty sure Gary Williams' head is going to explode.

11:30 left, Miami up 7, both Miami guards with 4 fouls. Terps are gonna win.

You think Gary is going to set an ACC tourney first round record for sweating?

What will Gary find to complain about or does he only do that after a loss to Duke?

Big upset - Miami knocks off Maryland. The Terps really failed to show up for the first 30 minutes or so, and by that time, Miami had the confidence and kept up their effort. Nice job by Frank Haith and the Hurricanes.

Of course, this just makes Carolina's road to Sunday easier. <sigh>

Gary at his press conference: "After winning a national championship, sometimes it is difficult to get the kids to play hard against a team they don't respect. Even when that team beat us earlier in the year."

I thought Gary was going to blame Duke for getting all the calls....

You're lying. He didn't actually say that did he??

Of course not! Just having fun at Gary's DBR-noted tendency to insert his 2002 championship into the conversation at every possible opportunity.
