Who? you say.

Just a true titan of investing. Doubt me, read this:

R.I.P.

Despite my strongly-held opinion, I would be interested to hear what those in the field think.

Not in the field but I made a few bucks with Vanguard. He came across as a nice person but I don't know much.

As somebody who wholehearted subscribes to the index philosophy and also frequents the Bogleheads forum (an investing board that is inspired by the advice of Jack Bogle), I certainly was aware of Jack Bogle and appreciate his contribution of bringing wealth to others -- even at the expense of himself. Not that he lived poorly, but he could have been much much richer had he chosen to. But he wanted what was best for the common investor. Thanks Jack! RIP.

It is hard to imagine anyone doing more good for investors than Jack Bogle did.

Not to be too provocative, but a lot of people "in the field," who made their living with exorbitant fees and commissions (kickbacks to me) from expensive mutual funds did not like him at all, this I know.
Jack was The Man.
