A life of trying to bring joy to others. Well done, sir.

A lot of Durham history seems to be slipping by lately...

His passing recalls the death of another restauranteur from (I think) 2010 that I'm not sure was mentioned on the board, which I'd like to remedy, though not right now. I'll be wearing my Bullock's shirt this week in his honor.

So many memories, thanks to his contributions. RIP

(This is worthy of a move to the EK, since BBQ is always on topic.)

Sorry to hear this. Ate many a meal there and interacted with Mr Bullock and his entire family. Back before basketball players ate steak and lobster- the team would eat at Bullocks. Clearly a Durham institution.

Sad news. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, and to everyone in Durham and beyond who enjoyed the fruits of his live-long labor of love, Bullock's BBQ. I've known his son Ty for decades, we were classmates growing up, Northern HS Class of '82. I'd run into him a recently and he'd told me his dad was not doing well and was in the Hock Family Pavilion. I know Ty and his sisters will carry on the family business that started with Tommy's parents back in the 50's. R.I.P. Tommy.
