Nothing major as far as revelations, but fun to see the interactions and activities that go on in the off-season. Also nice to hear from some of the players in a more relaxed setting.

I watched the first episode and thought it was good, although more promotional than behind-the-scenes. A month or two ago they showed a teaser clip of the Duke communications/social media guy giving RJ tips. Specifically, he commented that lots of RJ's Instagram posts were related to himself and cautioned that NBA GMs etc. could read that as self-focused. In the final edit they released today, they cut that tip and just left the pablum (keep in mind GMs are watching and include a shout-out to the Brotherhood). I think they may have even left a line in where the guy was starting to give specific advice and then never let him get to it. I also noticed something in end credits about the show being property of Duke. Not a huge deal but makes for a much less insightful show.

It’s solid, akin to the Blue Planet episodes but with much more “unvarnished” K which I love - you see how demanding he is during practice, and you also see how much these guys do outside of practice - meetings with nutritionists, performance specialists, social media advisors and on. Seeing K in proximity to all the youth, I feel his age more, he is the same age as these players grandparents!

One interesting nugget was him telling every guy on the team that they need to be able to make stand alone 3s.

Just finished watching it. It's great to see "behind the scenes," even if it's not quite as in-depth as some would like. I'll take what I can get, though.

BTW, I see six available episodes on my sidebar, so you might be able to binge all -- or at least almost all -- of them.

I have watched 5 of the 6 available episodes.

Goldwire and AOC seem like they are the silly little brothers of the squad. At one point, K is talking about them (to Bilas up in Canada) and he says something like, "Those two have grown up a lot. Last year they were a little too giddy, and we didn't have upperclassmen to tell them to stop being so giddy." They remind me of the Malloy brothers from the "Oceans 11" reboot.

You can really see the difference between K in game mode and non-game mode. He rips Marquese several times (you don't see Marquese but you know it's about him)..."Grab the damn ball! Grab the damn ball!! You are playing horrible!!!"

Zion, RJ, Javin, Jack, Alex and Jordan are really the primary featured guys. Tre is in there more than Cam and Marquese. I have a feeling the latter are just camera-shy guys who don't feel comfortable mugging for the camera...which is interesting because the consensus seems to be that Cam is the funniest guy on the team (not from these videos, but I have heard others on the team say it)

Finally got around to watching the first episode. It does feel like an extended version of the Duke Blue Planet clips that are on YouTube. The meeting between K and Nolan felt staged, I mean are we really supposed to believe that K had no idea of the answers to the questions he was asking? Also the degree of seriousness carried in the voice of the narrator was kind of amusing to me. Anyways, it was a fun way to pass some time while waiting for the season to start. I like getting to see the players and coaches off the court. I can't imagine anyone who's not a Duke fan will be able to stomach these.

OH SNAP. That's cold, Coach K, that's cold. OK, OK, well, yo mama is so old that when she was in history class, they just wrote down what they were doing.

(Credit to Key & Peele. I'd link to the clip but it has a NSF-DBR -- but hilarious -- ending.)

Watch episode 6... there is a 5-second segment of a fastbreak where Joey Baker flushes a right-handed slam ON RJ, who tried to block it. Once you see this you will be in the "Joey Baker will get some run this year" camp (much like Grayson's PT in 2015, imo). After the replay, the camera panned to a shot of AOC in utter shock. It was very impressive.

I second the praise for the Baker dunk. Wow. Just the decision to attempt it shows a lot.

The last two episodes are now available. I watched #7 and it was great! There’s a scene at the beginning where Besser and Vrank meet up with Wendell Carter in Chicago (they go back home during the hurricane). I won’t give too much away but will say it was really cool to hear Carter’s thoughts. It seems like he genuinely did consider coming back, and he really values the brotherhood despite what his mom said publicly.

I have really enjoyed this whole series, but my biggest takeaway is how much Coach K is a teacher first and a basketball coach second. In film sessions, in practice, in media interviews, he is constantly teaching. I loved seeing how he interacts with the players and allows them to be active participants, while also maintaining a personal connection with each of them.

Now I gotta watch episode 8 soon so that I can cancel my ESPN+ without paying for another month LOL.

ESPN+ costs about $5 a month. I live in Oklahoma and I get to see Duke games, football, basketball, lacrosse that are not otherwise available here. Also other sporting events that I find it interesting(not many). I think it's worth $5.

I can afford it, I just don’t need it for anything else. Used my free trial for the Canada games and then bought a month to watch EE. I’m not aware of any football games carried on ESPN+, they’re on the regular ESPN channels or ACCNE.

I, too, watched the whole thing and liked it. I also found it interesting to observe K's interactions with the players but actually found it to be more distant than I expected. I think maybe I was being naive to think that a dude of K's age, busy schedule and military background (difference between the officers and enlisted men) would be on a more casual familiar basis with his players, but he definitely seemed like someone they both awe and fear rather than someone around whom they are relaxed. I also felt that way about the assistant coaches who seemed very stiff around him. Maybe that stuff was staged for the camera, I don't know, but I rarely saw anyone smile around him, they always seemed "at attention" which, again, makes sense, I guess.

What really amazed me is that, I assume, ESPN had to pay $ to do this project yet Blue Planet has essentially the same footage and makes it available for free...everything save for the practice film reviews which were awesome. You really get a sense of K's command of the game.

I think it was actually Duke's content produced by Intersport (Besser's father's company) and then sold to ESPN like any other television purchased from an outside studio.

Watched it all. Great insight to the closeness of this team. Was great to see the former players return and interact with the current players.

I binge watched all episodes and thought it interesting and worthwhile although about 4 hours long. With regard to the OP’s comment that “maybe. . .stuff was staged for the camera”, I definitely had that feeling about a number of sequences, especially the opening one with K and Nolan discussing the impending arrival of the freshmen; very stiff!

Overall, I though the best part were the sequences both on the court and while watching film where K provides instruction and guidance in a firm but supportive way. Had never seen this type of direct interaction with the players before. The kinds of communication and details that make him such a great coach.
