Holy shot balls! Looking forward to more from Alex. That’s a different level of talent.

Duke Men's Golf is on a roll, having reached the semis of the NCAA's after placing second in the medal round. Congratulations to Alex.

Kindly,
Sage
'Of course, Alex is very inefficient, taking 18 holes to reach 61 strokes. I usually do it in just 12 or 13'

On a tangentially related note, I'm glad Davidson is not in that tournament as someone could have dropped 91 strokes on us :o.

Seriously, that is an amazing round of golf. When my playing days were dwindling, I could easily get my 61 strokes on the front 9. :o:eek:

61. Wow. If I had played with him, our score would've been much like Davidson Guilford (91-61).....

Men's roster is pretty interesting, guys from all over, two wee guys at 5-7, 5-8, large guy at 6-7.

Phhht. I shoot 61 per side.

(Wow, that’s staggeringly good!)

My game has been consistent for years. On in 2, off in 3, back on in 4, and 2 put.

I might've shot a legit 61....on 9....had I kept score honestly when I played some evil creation of the devil in Mebane. I can't remember the name of the place, on purpose, but not far off I 40. I think the design was by Mengele and Associates. I was playing with a single digit handicapper, and I was playing to about a 15 at the time....and I won a short par 4 with a 10. My buddy had, approximately, a 13.

I'm sure someone on this forum must know the course.

By the scores it sounds like Hershey Juvenile.

I shoot 75 every course I play. When I get to 75 - I take my clubs and head straight to the 19th hole.

Friend of my parents, who played on the 1936 "Iron Dukes" team, lived in Salisbury and was a rather poor golfer. He did have a legit ace one day, and walked off the course in the middle of the round and never swung his clubs again.

His teammate, Hall-of-Famer Clarence "Ace" Parker, was described as a five-sport star in high school -- football, baseball, basketball, track and.... golf! Ace is in the college and NFL HOFs, plus he played in the majors for the Philadelphia Athletics. My friend who pitched for Ace at Duke (HC, 1953-1966) says that Ace would let the pitchers play golf on game days when they weren't scheduled to pitch. Parker would join them, picking up any old set of clubs, and having no trouble shooting 75.
