Also, we should note for the tournament, you may hear some episodes that don’t have the music between segments or sounds like it’s otherwise stripped down. We want to bring you content quickly during the tournament, so some of these episodes may be stripped down for the sake of getting it to you in time for your listening pleasure with the content remaining relevant. We’re hoping to have at least 5 more episodes in this tournament!!

Surprised you guys are all as confident as you are about the RI game. Yes they are small but we've seen smaller and less talented teams defend us by fronting our big guys, cheating off of Duval and Delaurier, and forcing turnovers. We just saw Buffalo employ a similar strategy against Ayton (and yes, I realize that game was played after you recorded the pod). So while we have a size advantage and should be able to dominate inside, I'm still really nervous about the game because they can hit the three and turn us over.

I have a similar mindset to Jason as far as shooting really well in a game where we didn't need it; it feels like a "waste." And I know you can't directly take a good shooting game in isolation and suppose that it could have been applied to a different game, because the quality of the defense plays a big role. But during the season, I actually really like when we shoot poorly and still win the game because it shows we can withstand a night when the outside shot isn't falling. Conversely, if we shoot really well from three then I almost view it as a negative because we relied on it, which is dumb. The example I like to fall back on is Justise Winslow in the 2015 tournament. He had been an inconsistent shooter from deep all season, yet shot well the whole tournament and averaged around 50% from three. I think Trent is due for a similar streak :)

I think of the tournament as when only the results matter, not the methods. If Duke wins by scoring on dunks, fine. If Duke wins by threes, fine. Survive and advance, right?
