Time For New Scoreboard?

UNC is planning to spend $6 million on new video boards for the Deandome (https://scout.com/college/north-carolina/Article/New-Video-Boards-Slated-for-UNC-Basketballs-Smith-Center-115303562). The new owner of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team that shares the PNC arena with NCSU wants a new scoreboard that would extend from "blue line to blue line" (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/luke-decock/article200332674.html) which would be 50 feet (http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_distance_from_blue_line_to_blue_line_i n_the_NHL?#slide=2). Obviously,there's not the room in Cameron for anything that size nor the need. The worst seats in Cameron would be among the best seats in Chapel Hill or Raleigh. However, it seems to me that it's time for a significant upgrade to the scoreboard at Cameron. We need to keep up with our neighbors. You could only go so deep without increasing the chance that a long pass would hit the scoreboard but you could make it wider and improve the video quality. Give it an oak border and some brass accents and it would look fine.

Worked better than this one does. Rarely has the right players on the court. Sometimes it is a full minute or two before a player gets credited with a foul or score. Never thought I would say this, but I wouldn't mind having the old one back! ;)
