Assuming that both team have the same amount of experience playing with each other.

Carter
Bagley
GTJ
Grayson
Duvall

vs

Bolden/Delaurier
Zion
Cameron
Barrett
Tre

I think 2017 has the stronger frontcourt, but 2018 has the edge in the backcourt.

2019 doesn’t have Grayson, and I think for that reason I give it to 2018. They also don’t start DeLaurier/Bolden in 2018

It's way too early to know.

Let's let this season play out. And at least some of next season.

Are we starting Zion at 5 and O'Connell at 2?

No, the poster was saying the 2018 team (this group) doesn’t have to start one of Bolden/DeLaurier, whereas 2019 likely will. But the 2018 team ALSO has both those guys as reserves.

But I agree - it remains to be seen what this year’s group winds up looking like, and what next year’s group looks like.

Thank you for explaining my quote. Yes, we have both of those guys as reserves this year, but A) they're reserves this year for a reason as we have better guys, and B) the post was initially only talking about starting lineups.

Unless next year’s team somehow plays much better defense, this year seems much better constructed...
