The front woman for the Cranberries has died at 46. Their sound is right up there when talking about iconic sounds of the 90's.

RIP. Definitely heard her many a time right after getting out of undergrad.

Sigh, I’m 46 also.

One of the first CD's I owned....sad to think I don't buy any more CDs, sad to think that someone my age is dead.

The Cranberries
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence, caused such silence
Who are we mistaken?

RIP.

Loved her haunting sound. Too young to die.

Probably their biggest hit "Linger" is one of my favorite songs...

Any news on what caused her death? Pretty young to just fall down dead. Sad, sad story.

Loved the Cranberries back in the day.

...and politically minded like many Irish groups...

No word yet. When I first read the report, I thought maybe she had been battling an illness or something, but the family said she was in good health and that the news was devastating and unexpected.

She was even in London when it happened, recording music, gearing up for a north American and European tour. Sad.

Like many others, I can remember signing along to the Cranberries songs on the drive to school on a cold winter's morning. Time truly does fly. Enjoy what you have.

Loved the Cranberries back in the day.

She’s attempted suicide before and battled bipolar / depression for years.

Oh, this is horrible. Her powerful lilting voice, silenced!

Among their many hits, this was the one for me:

Zombie caught the vibe and the airwaves. A great song.
