Who was Man of the Match in Duke's 100-93 win over the Seminoles today?

Not a chance. Not the way this game went.

I voted for Bagley III, but man, Duval made it a semi-tough decision for me to vote for a guy that just put up 32 and 21.

I want to vote for Bagley about 53 more times.

Bubble already busted.

It is almost certainly never going to happen at DBR. But it was certainly not going to happen today with how Duval finished.

I’ll gladly own my vote for Duval. Doesn’t mean MBIII wasn’t spectacular. But Duval willed us to that win the last several minutes and earned my vote.

You won’t be alone, nor should you feel the need to defend yourself. That was a monster finish.

i would love to give it to Trevon for his play over the final few minutes, but that would have been moot without Mr Marvin's monster game throughout. 11 O-boards!!! and the one off his missed front end of the 1n1 for a circus shot +1 was amazing!!!

Almost changed my mind because of the ridiculous english Bags had on that and-1 in the 2nd half, but Tricky owned the last 2 minutes. Call it recency bias, call it Bags is so unbelievable that 32 and 21 is somehow quiet or expected, but I had to give it to the kid that battled some poor decisions and foul trouble all day and then found himself (and his teammates!) when it mattered most with the game on the line. Hoping this helps Tre take the next step in his development.

I voted for Marvin, but Duval lit the fire at the end. Very close in my opinion.

How many times has a Duke player turned in a 30 and 20 performance?

Grayson was great and deserves some votes but come on Bagley was nuts

By my count this was the 5th. The record books lists games of 21 or more boards individually and a tie at 20 boards many of which I found were the same players. There's a chance one or two snuck under my radar, but I have once by Art Heyman (who actually crossed 40 and 20 and it was against UNC to boot). Mike Lewis did it 3 times in 1967-68 which is just nuts. 30 and 20 are just tough to reach individually. For reference, Laettner, Ferry, and G-man never even got a single 20 rebound game. As prolific a scorer as Laettner was, he only had 6 30 point games in four years.

I couldn’t decide between Bagley (crazy individual stats) or Duval (the spark at crunch time).

So I went with Carter, who did the dirty work and had a great game. I love the unsung heroes.

I voted for Marvin for his 32 points, 21 rebounds(11 offensive) playing 39 minutes without fouling out and +12 +/-. Tre gets a shoutout for his late play but I couldn't get past his earlier play and he was the only starter with a +/-4 in 22 minutes. He did save our rear ends with some really big plays down the stretch. Grayson with a good game as well, 22 points, 6 assists and only 2 turnovers in 40 minutes. GoDuke!

Good game from Carter as well. Another double-double. 14 and 16. GoDuke!

When I vote, I look at the ENTIRE game. Seems like this voting sometimes turns into the Man of The Last 5 Minutes. Nothing wrong with that but not how I do it. I mean, Bagley just put up the first 30 and 20 of the coach K era.....come on!

So he's the third Duke player EVER to go for 30 and 20, and the first in 50 seasons. And against a long and athletic FSU team. But still not a unanimous MOTM. Hmm.

I guess he'll have to score all Duke's points. If he didn't win it for this game, what else can he do. GoDuke!

Can I give an honorable mention vote to AO'C? He was outstanding in limited minutes. I am dying to see his plus-minus (he and Duval had outrageous plus-minus, I bet).

Very strong indeed. Javin with only 9 minutes, Bolden with 5 minutes and Goldwire with 6 minutes. Who would have guessed that?

Grayson had a really nice floor game with Duval sitting with foul trouble. Carter and Duval had their moments, but I think that to vote for anyone other than Bagley means he is being taken for granted.

I think he is a little, and I think as duke fans we need to stop and appreciate this a little more. Under K, Bagley has three of the four 30/15 games and the only 30/20 game. I don’t remember a freshman ever having been more dominant (although I don’t remember that many at all as I’m still young) and I think we need to be grateful we have him. Remember the night everyone swore he was going to USC and then how elated we were that we got him? Let’s continue to be elated we gave him and stop assuming 15 or 20 rebounds and 30 points is nothing special.

What a silly thing to say. Do you really believe anyone here is taking him for granted? I mean, seriously. Besides, it’s not like the outcome of this vote holds any importance whatsoever. Except perhaps if the fellas check these MOTM threads - in which case Duval might appreciate the props for almost single handedly closing out the victory.

6th MOTM goes to the substitute Crazies, who did an awesome job of filling in today. Plus a shout out to the Crustie Band.

AND he did it with four fouls, two of which were figments of Mike Eads imagination.
