I don't even want his brother back.

He was pretty darn successful as an OC here. I dunno if it was him or Cut, but someone was coaching Thad Lewis and Sean Renfree into being NFL QBs.

After our pretty significant offensive struggles this season, perhaps due to his brother's play calling, I'd be pleased if we considered Kurt for that role next season.

No to infinity for both of them!

Zac Roper was a pretty good special-teams coach.

Indeed. Tough going from offensive coordinator to special teams coach, career-wise, but it makes some sense from Duke's point of view. Kurt is more than likely looking
at a demotion as well after his firing. The annual national coaches meeting will be interesting.

He's welcome to that job if his ego allows. I don't want to suffer another season of the Roper family dictating our offense.

I feel like Duke would be fine with Zac Roper back to special teams and Kurt Roper back to OC, as long as their ego allows. I don't particularly have much animosity towards them.

I too was wondering what folks would think of bringing back Kurt Roper as the OC. We did seem to be better under him but I might be seeing this through the fog covered glasses of this year with Zac doing a lousy job.

From wikipedia:

2008–2013 Duke (OC/QB)
2014 Florida (OC/QB)
2015 Cleveland Browns (Off. Analyst)
2016–2017 South Carolina (Co-OC/QB)

So, 6 years at Duke ... then left for Florida w/ the high risk (maybe fired after one year)/high reward (setting self up for high-ish major job if brought UF around in a big way) ... and got the risk as the staff was fired. Then, the Cleveland Browns for a year (guess he has stories to tell). Now out before the bowl in year 2 at South Carolina. The last four years seem filled with more strife/turmoil than the six at Duke (where he just had to deal w/ Ozzie and not an SEC fanbase).

Bob's a career Navy man and he still believes a ground attack is the foundation of a solid offense before one takes to the air. And I don't think he's amphibious. :o;)
