about damn time they made one right decision and i can't even give them credit for that because they screwed up twice before this time. whatever "new information" they got was probably them just realizing how ridiculous they looked. good for braxton though. glad for the kid!

Grumpy old guy here: Braxton Beverly is a guard at State, who did not want to go to Ohio State, where he had committed, after Thad Matta was dismissed. Trouble was, he had enrolled in and begun taking a class at OSU. NCAA ruled that he had to sit out a season.

Based on additional information, NCAA staff reconsidered and granted NC State’s transfer waiver request for Braxton Beverly, allowing him to compete immediately.

This is another chink in the "transfers have to sit out a year" armor. I foresee the rule disappearing completely sometime in the near future, which will introduce full on free agency to college athletics.

Moral to the story, when dealing with the NCAA, hire a good lawyer, whether you are a cheating lying university or an innocent student athlete, it works and the NCAA slithers away into their hole.

That’s the type of moral I can get behind.

If the NCAA catches any athlete going to classes they must sit out a year. Call that the UNC rule.

One wrong has been righted. Now I just await this announcement...while the NCAA is fixing things they messed up.

Based on additional information, NCAA staff reconsidered and given the UNC athletic department the death penalty.

I'm geting gready aren't I? After all, NC State has been known to be a dumping ground for the NCAA. Anyone remember Terry Henderson losing a season of eligibility because he turned his ankle 7 minutes into our first game two seasons ago? I guess he should have hired a lawyer.

About time. They are unpaid student-athletes, or so goes the meme.
