Is it over?

Nope. Allen had ankle surgery at end of season and was away from basketball for 3 months. Played injured all last year, but his athleticism is back and he's ready to go.

I think injuries derailed last season to a large degree. Hopefully we have better luck this season. I have a question for the docs and nutritionists out there if there are any.
What do you think of certain neutraceuticals for bone and ligament building and/or bone broth which some naturopaths tout as a food based way to do the same thing?
I know the training is intense, but maybe there is some way to build bone and ligament strength to avoid injury and speed recovery once it happens.

I didn't complain because I saw the main DBR article (https://www.dukebasketballreport.com/2017/7/19/15999294/grayson-allen-surgery-duke-basketball) with the same headline earlier today.

That said, who needs a gotcha headline? Just call it "College basketball news" and we'll come running. What else is there to read about? SEC football?

Don't forget NFL Jersey sale numbers and the Mayweather vs. McGregor nonsenese.

I really hope that Grayson can stay healthy this year. I think many people underestimated how much his injuries hurt our team last year. Sure Luke scored terrifically and Jayson was a great freshman but Grayson would have been our best player. He was the pre-season NPOY and with the talent we brought in, if he stays healthy we are a much better team. Another season of what might have been.

Hope his ankle is ready to go and that the break from hoops leaves him well rested both physically and mentally. I think that while lots of people are going to start the season looking at the shiny new freshman (Duval, Carter in particular), it'll be Grayson that leads.

Good post. I agree with you about Grayson.

If Mr. Duval is as good as expected, it will free Grayson for a lot of threes and drives. If he stays healthy and centered ( I don't underestimate the noise and hatred he encounters on the road), I think Grayson will have a great year.

Go Duke.

I have never wanted a jersey hanging in the rafters more than Grayson's. Hope it gets there.
