But not seriously injured, thankfully. I-85 South (http://www.journalnow.com/news/state_region/unc-s-luke-maye-flips-car-on-interstate/article_56e7512e-0a33-5b54-89ce-e5fbf01e0064.html) has not been kind to UNC over the years. The incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. last evening, when his car clipped a tractor-trailer while merging onto the freeway.

Glad to hear he's OK! I drive down 85 all the time. I hope my mother doesn't here about this, or she'll be more nervous than she already is!

I hear he was in a driver's ed course that required no attendance, no driving, no exam, no requirement to stay awake...

Mods: maybe rename the thread something like "Luke Maye Unhurt After Car Accident"? The current version seems so open-ended and unresolved and ominous.

I hate Carolina as much as the next guy but I am glad to hear he is OK - he seems like a good guy

Or maybe "Luke Maye Unhurt After Car Accident, Carolina Integrity DOA."

Or maybe "Luke Maye Cheats Injury After Car Accident"

In one manner, Maye should be thankful he plays for the Cheats. He did manage to cheat death quite nicely.

I bet the incident raised some eyebrows

Are some of these comments worthy of the so called high standards of this forum?

1. I am glad he is okay. The end result of this could have been extremely serious, and no kid (or at my age, parent of that kid) deserves that. This kind of accident is no joke,

2. I hope his team gets the death penalty, now, and the Tar Heels rot in the lowest level of Hell. Go to covfefe, you covfefe mother-covfefeyers.

I see no inconsistency in these two statements. If someone does, please tell me what I am missing.

Glad that Luke Maye is okay. He seems a good young man, notwithstanding his choice of shades of blue.

I think we're only taking a lighter tone about it because we know he's ok. None of us wants a player to be hurt, nor would we be making fun if he was.

This.

I would not make a joke about a kid getting injured. We've all see the loss and pain a serious car accident can bring (Bobby Hurley, Nate Irving, etc) and are very grateful for the outcome in this accident.

precisely. would never make a snide (if accurate) comment if the kid were injured.

I assume that Jay Bilas is tweeting that the NCAA was at fault in the incident.

No worries, Fats will have Luke a new ride in no time at all and the NCAA will look the other way, so Jay will be happy.

(On another note, I am very glad the kid was not hurt. Major blessing there)

Was the car registered to fats?
