Kevin is at the Memorial Tournament this weekend in Ohio and is having a nice tournament at the Jack Nicklaus event. Saturday's round is a -5 67, which currently places Streels tied for 6th, five shots out of the lead. A number of players, including the leaders, are still on the course.

Go Duke!

Yea, not sure either. If he can finish 4th alone I think he's in. If tied for 4th, they take the leader in money (or points) among those tied. This according to announcers who may not really know either.

This link (https://www.theopen.com/News/News/2017/07/Four-Qualifying-Places-In-The-146th-Open-On-Offer-At-The-Greenbrier-Classic) says that the Top 4 finishers who are (a) among the top 12 and (b) haven't already qualified get a British Open invitation. So, because Russell Henley has already qualified, he won't count. But they apparently use World Rankings to break ties. So Ryan needs someone besides Henley to fall back below him these last few holes.

Streelman eagled the par 5 second hole and birdied the third hole to go -3 on the front nine. He has moved up 13 places to T8.

After great success on holes 2 and 3, the rest of Kevin's round was relatively uneventful. He finished the day 4-under and is now 10-under for the tourney, good for a 9-way tie for 18th place. But, he is just 1 stroke back of a 10-way tie for 8th place. Put another way, there is a lot of bunching. A good showing tomorrow could set him up to be safe for the first 3 events of the 4-event FedEx Cup, which would be great for him.

Ryan Blaum was 3-under through 15 today, but went double/bogey/bogey on the final 3 holes and now finds himself in 77th place. Ugh...

There was a little-known incident a few years. All of the golf commentators from every network that covers pro golf were walking their dogs in a parking lot. Streelman got behind the wheel of an F-450 and mowed down all the dogs, every single one.

So, the commentator illuminati decreed that his name could never again be uttered on a golf telecast.

Our man Streels missed the cut with a +2. He had it going on the front nine, but made three bogies on the back nine. Streelman was a last-day addition to the field.

Our newest hero is Julian Suri, playing on the European Tour, who is tied for 12th. He just eagled the par five 17th -- with a one-foot tap-in. Julian trails the leaders by five shots.

Due to rain delays the third round has yet to begin. In fact, pairings can't be made until all the players finish their second round. The third round will have a split field, the top half teeing off on number one; the remainder teeing off on ten.

Of course, the PGA being a major, DBR has an interesting off-topic thread (https://forums.dukebasketballreport.com/forums/showthread.php?42158-2018-PGA-Championship) and contests underway.

Our man Streels missed the cut with a +2. He had it going on the front nine, but made three bogies on the back nine. Streelman was a last-day addition to the field.

Streelman was rolling until he hit his tee shot on #2 (his 11th hole as he started on the back nine) in the water. Unfortunate, but that's golf.

Julian just finished delayed second round. Had a kick in eagle 3 on 17. He's five off the lead at -5. He was described variously as powerful, a world class player and a Duke grad. Tiger at -4

Streels missed cut by two.

Wes Roach, another Duke golfer, finished in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour Finals today. This means he gets his PGA tour card for the late 2018/2019 season. This gives us 3 on tour next year along with Streelman and Blaum.

Here's a semi-official notice. He eagled the last hole, earning his PGA Tour card:
