Very sad. Rachael Getting Married was a great movie of his.

IMO this is the most powerful scene from that movie and one of the best scenes from any movie I can recall

When I saw the news, I immediately thought of Ted Demme, who was Jonathan's nephew (I mistakenly thought he was his son), and who died very young. Ted's movie "Beautiful Girls" is one of my all-time favorites; I highly recommend it.

That movie poster is one of the husband's most prized possessions.
Esophageal cancer, man, that's a tough one.

I have it on my wall as well. He must be a good guy. :)

R.I.P Mr. Demme.

His work with Neil Young was excellent also.

Melvin and Howard has always been my favorite Demme film.

Most of his films are not my cup and tea, but I appreciate that he was an important director.

RIP.
