Oh my word...

Thank you for sharing this! I am fighting back tears and am saying a little prayer for that young woman's family but also that I remember never to judge anyone lest I know their whole story.

Thank you for posting this. It is very heart warming and should remind all of us what is important.

I'm at my 24 hour limit, and can't spork you :( I'll try my best to remember to do so tomorrow.

Only saw one when I read it - I was soo tempted to register so I could comment back to him "You should know."

I restrained myself.

I just told my daughter and her boyfriend the same thing. We never know what these young men are going through in life. GoDuke!

Grown man crying over here. Really humbling to read as a cbb fan who often forgets that even our most hated rivals are all pretty good kids.

Yep.

In a shockingly early fulfillment of Godwin's law, in the very first comment we learn that Hitler apparently loved dogs.

This is great. Thank you for sharing.

Wonder if Dana O'Neil and the other "journalists" that made Grayson their personal pinata have read this (or knew this...).

I didn't need anymore reason to love Grayson anymore than I already do, but was happy to read that article, for numerous reasons I wish Samantha was still around to root for him and the rest of our Blue Devils!

Always wondered at the level emotional pressure Grayson has been able to endure.
God bless his heart. And bless Samantha watching tonight from heaven.

If Seth can read as well as he coached he will have to get someone to read it to him.

Could not possibly agree more. I take comfort in the fact that Grayson comes from such an amazing family that I'm sure he's learned that all of the insults hurled his way were lobbed from glass houses.

I couldn't decide on a good place to post this. Then I decided it needed a thread all its own. Continually impressed with this young man.

Of course this won't get national attention.

If he kicked her car or threatened her - national spotlight. People just don't care that Grayson is a really nice and decent person. It doesn't fit their narrative.

Thank you so much for posting this article.

Look, I want Duke to win the National Championship every year. However, to win it this season would be special, in my opinion. The way Grayson has been treated is so entirely out of proportion for his actions. To be pilloried by the national media for three, admittedly stupid, tripping fouls is ridiculous. When DUIs and assault and battery charges are not coming close to the amount of attention a tripping foul has garnered, then we can say without hyperbole that we have a problem.

I root like hell for Grayson Allen, and am emotionally invested in watching him win. I will feel it a little more this year if we lose. If we win, however, that banner will be a constant reminder of a great kid with a great heart.

Go Duke!

I assume the quotes are from the Greenville Media Day presser, more quotes from Grayson to make us proud and an excuse to get the other article back to the front page.

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/18926410/guard-grayson-allen-regret-returning-duke-blue-devils-junior-season

Grayson on his decision to come back this season despite the projections he would be a first round pick:

"For me, I'm making best of the situation," he added. "I didn't come back for personal goals, I came back to be in the spot I am right now and trying to make another run for a national championship and I'm still able to do that. So there's no regrets there."
