The last team to play in the tournament, the Duke Blue Devils are facing off against Syracuse. The Orange advanced after dominating a bunch of cheaters last night.

The first quarter has seen too many Duke unforced turnovers, but good defense against the most prolific three-point shooting team in the conference. A last second (one-tenth) shot by Lexie Brown on a well designed play gives Duke the lead, 15-14.

Sweet three by Lambert to end the half. This game has been tight, and doesn't look to change. LGD!

Another back and forth quarter, again ending with a last second three, this time by Kyra Lambert. Duke leads 29-26.

Duke leads in rebounds 23-18, and Syracuse is shooting 24.3% overall, 5-15 from three (Duke is 4-7). Eleven Duke turnovers have kept the Orange in the game.

The defense is doing its job, we need to cut down the turnovers to make this a much easier second half.

The winner faces 7th seed Miami, who upset FSU. Miami led the entire game, but had to hold on to win by two.

The other half of the bracket has 5th seed Louisville, winners over NC State by a point, against Notre Dame, who had a fairly easy time against Virginia.

At the half, the ACC player of the year, Alexis Peterson, is 1 for 8. Playing her tight opens up other players for some shots, but they're not hitting them.

Duke starts the third quarter pounding the ball inside, where Kendall, Oderah and Ducky get scores. The, once Syracuse shifts their D, Lexie takes over. Duke 51-39 after three. Syracuse tried to end the quarter as Duke did in the first two, with a late three, but Kendall said NO!

Syracuse improves their overall shooting to 26.4 percent overall, 6-24 from three.

Wow. Huge wow. Tale of two halves...what a blowout! While Syracuse seemed to miss everything in the 2nd, I was stoked to see us seem to get most of the boards. It's one thing if you miss, it's another if you miss and don't rebound. DWB made the most of those takes. Miami in the semis, LGD!

17-7 fourth quarter results in a 68-46 win for the Blue Devils. The top scoring team in the league scores 7 points in the last quarter. Player of the Year Peterson finishes with nine, her only game this year under double digits.

Lexie led with 22, and inside Oderah and Kendall score 11 and 12. Syracuse overplayed on the perimeter, opening up the inside. Kendall added a couple of simple jump shots inside the key that they just couldn't stop.

The defense was smothering. Syracuse shot 23% for the game, and 7-32 from three.

Just about everybody played well. I thought besides Lexie, Kendall and Crystal played terrific. They were determined that Rebecca wasn't going to beat them, and she was held to six points, but unlike Peterson she didn't force it, and let the others score.

The game against 7th seed Miami will start about 2:30 Saturday, after the Notre Dame-Louisville game.

Quite possibly Cooper's best game in a Duke uni.

Her block of the three attempt at the end of the third qtr was outrageous.

If you haven't watched a Duke women's game this year, you are missing some great fun. Lexie is a revelation - pure joy to watch. The team has great chemistry, plays hard, executes, and has fun playing the game. Go Duke. Beat Miami.
