Hi All -

I will be in Austin, TX for an event this weekend, and was hoping some would have suggestions on where to watch the Duke - UNC game while I am there Thursday night? (I've never been to Austin)

Thanks for the help!

Go Duke!

While I cannot vouch for it as an establishment, there is a Duke Alumni watch party for the game at: Alamo Drafthouse - 5701 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin, TX 78749.

While I haven't been to a watch party in Austin, I've been in other cities and they are normally at least reliable for having the game on a good number of TVs with audio and for being surrounded by generally like-minded patrons. No need to be an alumni to join the festivities either.

(There is a whole list of watch parties available online: http://rsvp.duke.edu/events/hoops-watch-duke-vs-unc-february-9-2017/agenda-866d1c061d434c92af29355e8e8ec7a6.aspx)

First, welcome to Austin! Please remember, after you leave, to tell all your friends that Austin is terrible and they should never, under any circumstances, move here, but instead that Dallas is great. Thx!

Second, Alamo Drafthouse is an absolute treasure:

Haha! The funny thing is, I keep seeing that I'm supposed to say I hate all the bars and not tell my friends, so the secrets can stay secret!

My night will most definitely end on "dirty 6th."

So far I'm deciding between Pluckers, Little Woodrows, and Draft Pick. Any input?

Was also told to check out Cain and Abels and Haymaker...

Sorry man. Travel day for me. Cain & Abels is cool for UT undergrads, right in the heart of West Campus, but not great otherwise. Definitely Little Woodrows among your choices here. And enjoy Dirty 6th, it's basically the same as the first four blocks of Bourbon Street but without the ability to take your drink with you!
