Even Duke's website (http://www.goduke.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=1845&SPSID=22726) is listing the start time on the January 21 home game with Miami as "TBA." Isn't it about time to get this nailed down? Some of us have to make plans. Is the holdup the NFL or is it something else?

In the last 2 years ESPN has kept 2-3 games in limbo with regard to tipoff time because one of them is going to designated their primetime game. The Miami game is that situation. Indiana-Mich St and one other game are also currently TBA for the 21st. They usually don't announce which game is the prime game (and the times for all the options until the Saturday before.

It is not optimal but like with the ACC football schedule times is the price we pay to have (nearly) all of our games televised in some fashion by ESPN.

very well could be. I know the game time for the NCSU/UNC game tomorrow night wasn't nailed down until last week either so it's an ESPN thing methinks

Kentucky-South Carolina is the other one. Mattsarzsports.com does a pretty good job parsing out available network windows for these sorts of things, and based on everything else that's been announced, the games will be on ESPN at 4, 6, and 8. The early afternoon slots on all espn networks already have other games locked in already so late afternoon or evening seems like a safe bet, though nothing is ever guaranteed until it's formally announced.

Thanks for the link. Useful site. I was just going off the games listed as TBA on KenPom FanMatch. Likely nailing it down to late afternoon or evening helps.

FWIW, ESPN recently updated this page to show a 4:00 tip-off:

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/schedule/_/date/20170121/group/50

Odd that it only shows ESPN3, when this was expected to be an ESPN game.

Nothing on goduke.com yet...

There's an Alabama Auburn game that's only loosely scheduled for ESPN2, and that same page has no network listed for it at all so it's possible that whichever game (Duke or otherwise) ends up at 4 could be flexed to ESPN2 if they suddenly decide Auburn Alabama is better for some reason.

Can't a game be both ESPN and Watch ESPN?

That would be "certifiably insane" which means it might just happen.

There should be a Jay Bilas impersonation contest for this one...and Seth Greenberg should enter.

This is easy. just wear a pope hat and walk around talking about things that have nothing to do with what's going on around you. repeat said points ad nauseum as if anyone who thinks otherwise must be an idiot.
