We are finally getting the opportunity to attend our first game in CIS. We decided to treat ourselves for our 60th birthdays and cannot wait - the excitement is building. My husband is a VT grad and has taken me to a few games there, but no way can it compare to what we will be experiencing next week and yes he will be wearing Duke blue. We were just curious if anyone could give us suggestions on some restaurants and points of interest during our stay? This is also my first post on a board such as this, so please excuse any errors that may have been made. By the way, he has surprised me by booking our room at the Washington Duke Inn. Than you in advance for any assistance.

Washington Duke is an excellent choice, it is top notch and just a (relatively) short walk to Cameron.

Have fun!!!

Washington Duke also has a shuttle service, but for a first visit I think I'd talk the walk, about 15 minutes or so.

You can usually walk right through Wallace Wade's open upper concourse unless that has changed since the renovations. Nice view of the facilities.

And of course, the Chapel is close to Cameron. And the Duke gardens is close to The chapel . . . .

Or less. The bar is also a hangout for pre- and post-game cheer and talk.

Slight detour: StubHub or SeatGeek?

We either get tickets from friends or deal with scalpers for games in CIS, but curious about getting tickets for Duke games at other ACC schools. Several schools sell individual tickets for Duke games, but not all.

Have used StubHub before for non-Duke games and it was fine, but no experience with SeatGeek. Based on a quick glance at both sites, CIS tickets for ACC games are a minimum of 4 to 5 times more expensive than dealing with scalpers.

Painting yourself blue is a good way to blend in with the students.

True. Blue speedo guy may be on vacation, so the role is open. Just throwing that out there.
