I voted for Luke, but Amile was a very deserving 2nd choice.

I went with Amile. Yes, Luke was scoring all over the place. But Amile was a rock inside, with rebounds, put-backs, and his "high-flying" dunk that even Dino Gaudio was impressed. And at the end with the four "others", Amile was the "point guard". He is amazing and will make the most of his 5th season. GO DUKE!!!!

While Amile is worthy and I was tempted to vote for Tatum/Bolden, with a career high of 35 points, to go with his 8 rebounds, assists and steal, I had to vote for Luke tonight!

I voted for Luke Kennard and his career high 35 points. The man is a scoring machine: 4-9 3 PT FG; 7-7 2 PT FG; 9-9 FT. Eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and zero turnovers. That is an impressive stat line. Perhaps the most impressive part of Kennard's performance is he made it look effortless. He was smooth, relaxed and in control from the start.

Runner-up: Amile Jefferson with his career high 20 points. Nine rebounds left him one short of a fifth straight double-double.

Honorable Mention: Jayson Tatum with 10 points and eight rebounds in his college debut.

He graduated from my high school (Pine Crest). Why are you a Vrank fan?

Although I loved Kennard's explosion, I can't vote for him as MOM. In fact, my second choice is Amile. He was truly directing the show. He was talking, pointing and defending. And he got 20 points and 9 rebs in the process.

But I voted for Matt. He's a non-stat performer who does his job well. Best defender on the team. Keeps his eyes open and is constantly looking for points to exploit, finding a teammate or setting a screen. He gets all kinds of hockey assists.
