Which Section is the 'Duke Section'? Some of us got our tickets independently and would like to know.

Thank you, in advance....................................mad

I haven't received my tickets yet. The ticket office automatically upgraded the tickets with a $50 fee if you did not respond to an email that they sent out. I thought it was kind of weird the way they did it. The email basically gave you 48 hours to contact the ticket office and tell them that you did not want the upgrade or they would automatically debit your card an additional $50 per ticket ordered.

I'll let you know what section as soon as I get my tickets.

When was this email sent? I have not received it, and I have checked my spam folders and not found it. I bought through the ticket office and got my tickets in the mail on Saturday. Mine are in section 225.

It would shock me that they could upgrade and upcharge (significantly!) without my specific consent. If true, and it was buried in the TOS, that's shameful IMO.

I got the email last week as well and did consent for the upgrade - but haven't received the new seat assignments just yet. Supposedly, we are in 100s - closer to the court.

This "upgrade without consent" program has been standard procedure for away games for.at least several years. I hate it; for the recent games at MSG we were "upgraded" at $75/per but found we had zero view of the court, and had to watch both games exclusively on the Jumbo-Tron.
Thus, even if you elect to pay extra for the "upgrade" you still have no way to know what you will be getting in return. Stub Hub may cost more but at least you have some assurance of what you get for the price.

I see that now - on the Elon ticket page. Well my opinion stands - and that's all I need to know about buying tickets this way in the future. Never recall encountering such a policy anywhere else before. Caveat emptor indeed.

Is it still possible to purchase these tickets through Duke? I've just made the decision to fly out for the game and haven't picked up tickets yet. If so, a link would be appreciated.

Yeah - How are tickets to away games obtained through Duke? I want to go to the game in Syracuse - my son has started a medical residency at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse and this is a chance to see him and the Devils.
I have been on the Duke athletics site and cannot find anything on away game tickets.

Not sure about the up-sell upgrade. I bought $50 tickets, but they came on Saturday as $100 tickets. AFAIK my credit card charges have not changed. Perhaps your mileage varies.

My seats are in Section 19, a corner section. I assume all the Duke-purchased seats are there.

When I looked into buying tix direct from the T-Mobile Arena box office back in September, they only had $50 seats left.

Upper sections can still be had for $34-$44 (https://www.axs.com/events/313070/unlv-vs-duke-tickets). And no, I'm not touting that site or any other. There may still be tickets available from the Arena directly or the UNLV box office.

Away games on campus sites are very limited, and are allotted by the team. Most go to players'/coaches/ families, with occasion tickets available for high dollar boosters. They are NOT sold (they are comps from the host team and will never be on the Duke ticket site.)

For certain games, primarily neutral site games, tickets will be available for Iron Dukes to purchase through Duke. This year, those games included the HoF games at the casino, the two games in MSG, the UNLV game and the Elon game.

You can get tickets for the Syracuse game from their box office. Spend at least $90 on them and consider the $200 ones. If you take the $50 seats, you're just going to say you were there.

Thanks for the info. I should clarify that I was responding to the question of whether Duke sold tickets for away games. I should have realized that some schools will have "public" sales. Especially since I've purchased such tickets at Wake, State, Tech and UVa in the past.

(Reminds me to check VT right now to see if they have tickets on sale for New Year's Eve...edit to add - they're only available through a "mini pack" at $150.)

Mine came today. The $100 seats are in section 19. I would guess you were upgraded without consent. It showed as a new charge on my cc bill. You might check your statement for two charges.

Per VT, the game is "sold out" as of today. Much like recent games @Clemson, the donors buy the extras tickets and immediately put them on Stubhub, turning a $40 ticket into an $80-90 ticket. That might change if the VT students don't claim all of their break tickets or as demand decreases toward Christmas.
