I wasn't able to watch the game, but I just looked at the box score. Looks like Kendall replaced Erin in the starting lineup. Oderah only played 11 minutes, presumably because of foul trouble (she had 4 fouls in those 11 minutes).

Lexie had 32 points and 5 steals, but only 1 assist. Becca had 24 points and 6 rebounds. Kyra had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists against just one turnover. Duke shot lights out (50.8% from the field (60% on threes) and 82.6% from the line), only turned the ball over 13 times, and on defense had 16 steals.

I assume ODU isn't very good, but it seems like a decent response to the disappointing loss on Sunday.

Chidom played 11 minutes because she wasn't very good. Emotionally disengaged.

Brown, Greenwell and Lambert all played very well and the trio continues to be the strength of the team. Odom is a keeper. But none of the bigs have established themselves as consistent in anything except inconsistency.

ODU has a 6-2 redshirt senior named Jennie Simms who was really good. Really, really good. 33 points worth, which we were told ties the record for most points scored at Cameron by a visiting player. She did that on 12-17 shooting (5-8 on 3s) and 4-6 from the line. Duke did force her into six turnovers.

The game was close until she picked up her third foul in the first half and Duke pulled away with her on the bench.

Crystal Primm landed wrong on a jumper and was helped from the court in considerable pain.

But she returned to the bench, walking without aid and appears to be okay. A bullet dodged.

There were some very good things. Duke shot 19-23 from the line--Brown was 8-8-- and 9-15 on 3s-Brown was 4-7. She scored 32 points on 13 field goal attempts and eight foul shots and added five steals.

Greenwell was 5-8 on 3s. No other Duke player tried a 3-pointer.

Duke had 16 steals and forced 23 turnovers, while Lambert had a career-high eight assists.

But the post players just have to play better. Seniors Kendall Cooper and Chidom combined for all of three rebounds in 29 combined minutes. These are two 6-4 former McDonald's All-Americans we're talking about. Lambert and Greenwell led Duke with six rebounds each, which is nice. But it would be nicer to have some post players leading the team in rebounds.

Great write-up/summary, Jim. Sounds like our post players need to talk to/spend some time w/Amile. ;)
