"Duke redshirt junior offensive tackle Gabe Brandner will miss the remainder of the 2016 season after suffering a fractured left ankle in Saturday’s 56-14 loss at Pittsburgh.

Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday and the procedure will be performed by Dr. Annunziato Amendola of the Duke Sports Science Institute.

After starting all 13 games during the 2015 season, Brandner had pushed his streak of consecutive starting assignments to 24 by starting all 11 contests this season. The Blythewood, S.C., native, who has played 1,923 career snaps for the Blue Devils, was an Academic All-ACC selection a season ago.
Duke closes the regular season this Saturday at Miami. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m., and the game will be televised live on ESPN2."

That injury looked serious when it happens, judging by how he fell back in agony.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
