LA Sparks beat Lynx in the finals. Gray put on a show in the 4th quarter and Parker was dominate. Beard did a great job on Maya Moore. Won on a shot with 3 seconds to go. Great game. Although they counted a shot that was after the buzzer and never reviewed in time.

Fabulous game. Chelsea gave the Sparks a huge lift when Tolliver went to the bench with five fouls midway through the third quarter. Alana made Moore work hard for everything she got, and chipped in with eight points and six assists. Parker and Ogwumikwe dominated inside; after being minus-14 on the glass in Game 4, the Sparks were plus-six tonight. Tolliver brought back all kinds of horrible memories when she hit a deep three with the shot clock about to expire.

In her 11th season in the league, Alana finally gets her first ring. Storybook ending for Candace Parker, who dedicated her season to Coach Summitt.

Well done, Sparks

Other than the controversial shot- it was excellent basketball. Both teams played at a very high level.

Congrats to those ladies. They won on the homecourt of the defending champions, who dominated the regular season, in the final game of the WNBA Finals.

Yes, congrats to Alana, Chelsea, and their teammates on their WNBA title. I only caught a few minutes of the Finals but will remember the Game 1 winner for some time.

Huge win for Candace. She didn't make the All-pro team this year or something like that, even though she is one of the top 10 WNBA players of all-time and is at the top of her game.

Talk was of her not being a true champion, unlike Maya Moore who has been collecting championships. Reality is, the Sparks have been a mess, until they got a couple of Dukies in the rotation to glue things together. Alana has been one of, if not the best, defenders in the league. Chelsea has been one of the top sixth men in the league.

Congrats!

Both Duke players had big roles yesterday. Worth a 4th quarter replay watch for those that did not see.
