Papadopoulos was proactive in her recruiting. Instead of waiting for schools to approach her, she emailed Duke’s coaching staff to express her interest in the program. Last March, the Blue Devils finished ninth at the NCAA Fencing Championships, where Columbia won its second straight team title (http://www.ncaa.com/news/fencing/article/2016-03-27/college-fencing-columbia-takes-home-second-straight-title). In Durham, Papadopoulos looks forward to all the luxuries available to Duke’s student-athletes.

“I really like the support they give to athletes. They have tutors to help us keep up our grades, and a nutritionist and sports psychologist,” said Papadopoulos, who hopes to study biology and linguistics. “Duke’s team has a nice family feel. They’re really cooperative instead of competitive, which is what I was looking for.”

As a former Duke fencer (club team, and almost adequate <sigh>), Welcome!

Those practice sessions in (old house) CC's stairs were fun, though...

Does that mean there is no House CC any longer? :(

If this turn into a House CC reunion thread, count me in. Class of '88.

I visited the campus a few months ago and obviously the building is still there, and there is a permanent plaque that says "CC" in Gothic letters, but I don't remember if it's called "House CC" anymore.

Most definitely not called "house cc" anymore. They relocated, then got disbanded (https://today.duke.edu/2000/06/oldhouse602.html) for one too many Purple Passion Parties...

<sigh>

Long Live the Czard of all the Rushes!

Any relation to George and Katherine, or Webster?
