The annual recruiting issue of Inside Lacrosse is out, and the gurus and pundits have anointed Duke's incoming freshmen as the nation's top recruiting class. Six Blue Devils are listed in the top 100, with five in the top 25. Attackman Joey Manown (Deerfield, MA) is ranked number seven overall , followed by midfielders Reilly Walsh (Brunswick School, CT), Terry Lindsay (Georgetown Prep,MD) and Kevin Quigley (Ridge HS, NJ) at 12, 13, and 17, respectively. LSM J.T. Giles-Harris (St. Joseph Regional, NJ), is at number 25, and FO Brian Smyth (Westminster School, CT), rounds out the list at number 36. The photo spread also includes two other incoming freshmen who are highly regarded but not top-100, defenseman Walker Scaglione (Cosby HS, VA) and midfielder Blake Leischow (Orono HS, ME). Midfielders John Bowler (Cherry Creek HS, CO) and Ryan Hastings (Bishop's School, CA) round out the class.

Looking forward to seeing all of these guys in blue and white next spring. The midfield-heavy class addresses the team's biggest need; with Jake Seau and David Gill missing the 2016 season due to injury, almost 90 percent of Duke's midfield scoring graduated. Manown will be expected to step into the spot vacated by Case Matheis, and Giles-Harris, an extraordinary athlete (he was also first-team all-New Jersey at safety) could be Duke's best LSM since Luke Duprey.

The Duke women's class, led by midfielder Catherine Cordrey (Summit HS, NJ) and goaltender Gabbe Cadoux (McDonough School, MD), is ranked number eight.
